Position Summary
The Director of Design will lead the technical and design functions of the firm, bringing a minimum of 20 years of experience in building enclosure systems and waterproofing. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to the design team, ensuring delivery of technically sound and innovative solutions.
- Establish and maintain design standards, quality control procedures, and project delivery frameworks.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align design initiatives with broader business objectives.
Technical Expertise
- Lead forensic investigations, design development, and construction oversight for building envelope projects.
- Offer expert consultation on roofing systems, below-grade waterproofing, and water intrusion mitigation strategies.
- Support clients in resolving complex insurance claims, including negotiation of multimillion-dollar settlements.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Texas, leveraging industry knowledge and professional networks.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with architects, developers, contractors, and institutional clients.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client engagements.
Project Oversight
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in building envelope design, waterproofing, and roofing systems.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing design teams and delivering complex technical projects.
- Proven success in business development and client relationship management within the Texas market.
- Expertise in forensic analysis, litigation support, and insurance claim resolution.
- Professional licensure (e.g., Architect, Engineer, or Registered Roof Consultant) preferred.
