The Director of Engineering will lead the sale and delivery of high-value advisory engagements across a range of service areas, including:

This role involves managing a team of consultants and analysts, ensuring excellence in project execution, client engagement, and team development. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic insights and innovative solutions to complex utility challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of consulting engagements-from pursuit and proposal development to execution and delivery.
- Facilitate strategic workshops with senior client stakeholders to uncover needs and co-develop actionable plans.
- Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership in one or more core service areas.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Mentor and develop consulting staff, contributing to training programs and performance feedback.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for growth and long-term partnership.
- Manage third-party vendors and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and contractual terms.
- Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, business, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MPA, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in utility consulting or a related discipline.
- Proven track record of managing complex consulting projects and delivering client value.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Deep understanding of utility operations, regulatory frameworks, and financial principles.
- Demonstrated leadership in team development and cross-functional collaboration.
