Electrical Design Engineer
A growing MEP consulting firm in Charlotte is seeking an Electrical Designer with ~4 years of experience to support a strong pipeline of commercial projects. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering high-quality design solutions across a diverse portfolio. The Electrical Designer will play a key role in the development of electrical systems for commercial buildings, working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver efficient, code-compliant designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical designs for commercial projects (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems)
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and documentation using Revit/AutoCAD
- Perform load calculations, panel schedules, and system layouts
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams
- Support project deliverables from schematic design through construction administration
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Qualifications
- ~4 years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical field preferred
- Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of NEC and commercial building systems
- Experience working on commercial projects (office, retail, mixed-use, etc.)
- EIT certification is a plus (or on track to obtain)
