A growing site development contractor is seeking an experienced Foreman to lead field crews on a variety of site development projects. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who knows how to run a jobsite efficiently, maintain high standards, and develop strong crew performance.
About the Role
As a Working Foreman, you will oversee day‑to‑day field operations on site development projects, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. You'll be responsible for directing crews, coordinating equipment and materials, and communicating effectively with team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple crews of 3-10 people depending on project size.
- Oversee all phases of site development, including earthwork, digging foundations, storm drainage, grading, and general site preparation.
- Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate daily tasks, equipment usage, and material needs.
- Train and mentor crew members, promoting efficiency and quality workmanship.
- Communicate clearly with project leadership regarding progress, challenges, and site conditions.
- Maintain a productive and professional jobsite atmosphere.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience managing sitework crews in the field.
- Strong background in full site development, not specialty civil work like bridges, wastewater treatment plants, or niche utility work.
- Ability to keep projects moving and crews performing at a high level.
- Solid understanding of heavy equipment, excavation processes, grading, and foundation work.
- Reliable, organized leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
- Willingness to travel within a 1-hour radius of the company's headquarters.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $100,000-$160,000, depending on experience.
