Forensic Structural Lead

An established forensic engineering consultancy with over 100 years of industry heritage - now part of a 5,000+ employee multidisciplinary AEC platform is seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer to support continued growth.

The business combines deep forensic expertise with a unique "one-stop-shop" model, offering services across structural engineering, building envelope, diagnostics, and restoration design. Role Summary

This position focuses on forensic investigations of structural failures across a wide range of building types. You will assess damage caused by storms, design defects, fire, and foundation movement, delivering clear, defensible conclusions for clients.

Operating in a remote-first environment, you will take ownership of projects while collaborating with subject matter experts across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections and forensic investigations
  • Diagnose structural failures and determine root causes
  • Prepare clear, detailed technical reports and recommendations
  • Communicate findings with clients and stakeholders
  • Manage projects from investigation through resolution

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or eligible)
  • Experience in structural or forensic engineering
  • Strong technical reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage client relationships
  • Willingness to travel for site inspections
