A leading engineering firm is seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer to join its growing team in Tampa. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience on impactful public infrastructure projects while working alongside some of the industry's top geotechnical professionals.
About the Role
As a Geotechnical Staff Engineer, you will support the planning, investigation, analysis, and design of a wide range of infrastructure projects. You'll contribute to major public sector initiatives such as:
- Everglades Restoration Programs
- I-4 Corridor Expansions
- Municipal, state, and federal infrastructure improvements
You'll be part of a collaborative team environment with strong mentorship, technical development, and clear growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing
- Perform engineering analyses and prepare technical reports
- Support design of foundations, retaining structures, and ground improvement systems
- Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers on project delivery
- Participate in client meetings and site visits as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 1-5 years of relevant experience
- Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel locally for field assignments
