Highway Project Manager | Camden, NJ
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, design, and delivery of transportation engineering projects, including roadway reconstruction, corridor improvements, intersection upgrades, pedestrian facilities, and multimodal transportation initiatives.
- Produce and review engineering plans, specifications, reports, and construction documents utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
- Provide technical oversight and quality control throughout all phases of project development.
- Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Supervise, mentor, and assign work to junior engineers and design staff.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, workloads, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings and maintain strong relationships with municipal, county, and state transportation agencies.
- Support proposal development, project pursuits, and business development initiatives.
- Assist with construction-phase services, including responding to contractor inquiries, reviewing submittals, and providing technical guidance as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of transportation engineering experience with increasing project responsibility.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
- Demonstrated experience managing roadway, transportation, traffic, or bridge-related improvement projects.
- Previous experience working with agencies such as NJDOT, PennDOT, counties, or municipalities is highly desirable.
- Thorough understanding of applicable local, state, and national transportation design standards.
- Familiarity with traffic engineering concepts and analysis is beneficial.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Interest in representing the firm through professional organizations, industry events, and technical conferences.
