Interior Designer

An innovative and energetic multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a passionate Interior Designer to join its expanding Santa Monica studio. This role contributes to both architectural and interior design efforts, supporting projects from early concept through construction administration within a collaborative, creative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop design presentation materials and supporting graphics, including renderings.
- Support project teams in visioning, design development, programming, and space planning to assess client and project needs.
- Participate in data gathering efforts, visioning sessions, and project implementation activities.
- Create space plan layouts.
- Research materials, finishes, and concepts to support and influence interior design direction.
- Translate design concepts into detailed construction drawings; assist in creating construction documentation and material specifications.
- Select and specify furniture; coordinate with and direct work of furniture vendor partners.
- Assist in construction administration tasks including RFI responses and submittal reviews.
- Present finish and material selections, furniture options, layouts, and overall design solutions aligned with project aesthetic goals, code requirements, budgets, and functionality.
- Manage and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Interior Design or Interior Architecture program.
- 3-4 years of professional interior design experience.
- Progress toward, or possession of, professional licensure and/or certification.
- Knowledge of:
- Interior design concepts, materials, furnishings, practices, standards, and principles
- Applicable city, state, and federal codes
- Finish materials, FF&E selection and specification, millwork/casework components, and construction detailing
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Strong 2D and 3D graphic capabilities.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, presentation, and time‑management skills.
Salary & Benefits
Compensation for this role aligns with the Santa Monica market and will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, and skill level.
Salary Range: $77,100 - $90,000, depending on experience and expertise.
