Land Surveyor
A growing local company specializing in civil engineering and surveying is seeking a Land Surveyor to support its expanding portfolio of public and private infrastructure projects across Utah. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Salt Lake City, ideal for someone who values technical precision, collaboration, and long-term career development.
Responsibilities:
Conduct boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys.
Operate and manage field equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
Reduce field data, perform calculations, and draft plats, legal descriptions, and survey maps.
Collaborate with project engineers, clients, and local agencies to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
Interpret construction plans and conduct QA/QC on survey data and documentation.
Maintain accurate project records and assist with permit applications when necessary.
Ensure compliance with state and local survey standards and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in land surveying.
Strong knowledge of survey principles, boundary law, and drafting standards.
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center (or similar software).
Ability to lead field crews and perform both field and office survey tasks.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites within Utah.
SIT or PLS in Utah preferred (or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months).
Preferred:
Familiarity with UDOT standards and large infrastructure or land development projects.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Experience with drones, LiDAR, or scanning technology is a plus.
