Land Surveyor

My client, a local civil engineering and land surveying consultant, is seeking a skilled Project Surveyor to lead and support survey operations. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects spanning both transportation infrastructure and land development, providing variety and technical challenge in your day-to-day work.

Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure the accuracy of various survey types, including public land, metes and bounds, topographic, construction, horizontal control, and state plane surveys
- Supervise and coordinate field crews, maintain organized field notes, manage job-related expenses, and perform boundary and field support calculations
- Conduct survey computations, including mathematical checks and boundary analysis
- Operate and maintain GPS and total station equipment; oversee inventory and procurement of survey tools
- Draft legal descriptions, easements, plats, and surveys; collaborate with design teams on CAD-based deliverables
- Perform field data collection and support office-based tasks such as data analysis, mapping, and project coordination
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in topographic, design, and construction surveying
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred; candidates without licensure are encouraged to pursue it
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with MicroStation, Geopak, and GIS is a plus
- Familiarity with Leica GPS, total stations, and construction staking tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and client relationship skills
- Ability to work in both outdoor and office environments
- Capable of moderate physical work, including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's license required; clean driving record preferred
