MEP Superintendent - Mission Critical / Data Center Construction

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Local or Relocation Supported)
Base Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 (DOE)

A leading U.S. general contractor with a top‑tier reputation in mission critical and data center construction is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to join their expanding team in Charlotte, NC. This is an opportunity to take ownership of major mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls scopes on high‑value, technically complex projects.

About the Role:

As the MEP Superintendent, you will oversee daily field operations for all MEP trades, ensuring seamless coordination, exceptional quality, and safe execution across large‑scale data center environments. You'll partner with project management, engineering teams, trade partners, and client stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all MEP field supervision across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection & controls
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of subcontractors, vendors, and field teams
  • Oversee quality assurance, NEC/IBC compliance, commissioning support, and system startup
  • Manage site logistics, safety plans, scheduling, inspections, and installation sequencing
  • Support BIM/VDC coordination, plan/spec reviews, and constructability input
  • Drive project delivery from core & shell through commissioning and turnover

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of MEP construction experience, ideally including mission critical or data center‑related work
  • Strong background supervising mechanical and electrical field teams on large commercial or industrial projects
  • Proven ability to manage complex installation packages: switchgear, HVAC systems, piping, controls, and life‑safety systems
  • Experience coordinating with engineering teams and ensuring systems meet code compliance (NEC, local/state)
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC, safety, scheduling, and subcontractor management
  • Comfortable working on‑site full‑time in Charlotte or relocating as needed
