With a growing national presence, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Power Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview
As the Lead Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and delivery of complex power systems projects. You will guide a team of engineers, provide technical leadership, and collaborate closely with clients to develop tailored solutions that meet performance, safety, and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of power systems including generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable integration.
- Conduct power system studies (load flow, fault level, protection coordination, stability, etc.).
- Oversee project delivery from concept through to commissioning.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
- Engage with clients to understand requirements and present technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Australian standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to business development and proposal preparation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in power systems engineering.
- Strong proficiency in power system analysis tools (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD).
- Demonstrated experience in renewable energy integration and/or microgrid design is highly desirable.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards it.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
