Project & Cost Controller - Water Infrastructure
Location: Sydney, New South Wales
We are seeking a Project & Cost Controller to support the financial and operational delivery of major water infrastructure projects. In this role, you'll work closely with project managers, finance teams, and PMO stakeholders to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance monitoring across multiple complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and key performance metrics.
- Monitor expenditure, analyse variances, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Provide clear financial and operational reporting to project and PMO leadership.
- Ensure project transparency and proactive cost management.
- Standardise cost control processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support project teams across planning, delivery, and commercial decision‑making.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business, Civil Engineering, or Project Management.
- Experience as a project engineer or project manager, ideally in infrastructure or related industries.
- Professional certifications (PMP, CMA, CPA, etc.) are highly regarded but not essential.
- Proven experience working on complex, high‑risk projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, financial, and reporting capabilities.
