Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Position Summary:
A nimble and growing consulting firm is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to lead and support infrastructure projects remotely. This role is ideal for a technically skilled and self-motivated professional who enjoys working independently, managing projects, and collaborating virtually with clients and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects including pipelines, pump stations, treatment systems, and master planning.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and client communications.
  • Prepare engineering reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide QA/QC oversight and construction support services.
  • Support proposal development and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative remote work culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • 6+ years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and project management.
  • Strong technical background in municipal infrastructure design and permitting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic modeling tools, and project management software.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $130,000 - $155,000 annually.
