Project Engineer

A Land Development Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects such as roads, water systems, sewage systems, and site layouts for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. This role requires collaboration with architects, developers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with environmental and zoning regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute site plans for land development projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies, soil tests, and hydrological analyses
  • Prepare and present technical reports and proposals
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and government agencies
  • Supervise construction activities and perform site inspections
  • Use CAD and Civil 3D software to create detailed engineering plans
  • Assess environmental impacts and propose mitigation strategies
  • Manage project timelines and budgets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 3-7+ years of experience in land development or civil engineering
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering software
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and stormwater management
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
