We're seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee electric transmission line and substation construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values safety and precision, and enjoys working with diverse teams across the field and office.
What You'll Do
- Lead and coordinate all phases of utility construction projects to ensure alignment with design, budget, and schedule.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, field crews, and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met.
- Prepare proposals and estimates, including drawing take-offs for electrical utility projects.
- Manage project budgets, forecast profitability, and report financial performance.
- Oversee job setup processes including safety plans, scheduling, cost codes, billing, and tooling.
- Evaluate and adjust project plans to maintain timelines and budget targets.
- Quote and process change orders from RFIs, drawing changes, and client requests.
- Provide leadership and guidance to field teams, union members, and subcontractors.
- Present project updates and expectations to internal teams and clients.
- Travel regionally to support project execution and team coordination.
What You'll Bring
- 4-7 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, or Engineering within the utility construction industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present to groups of 20-40 people.
- Proven ability to manage project financials and drive results.
- Deep understanding of utility construction practices, especially in transmission, substation, and distribution.
- Experience working with union labor and navigating labor agreements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, and other project management tools.
- BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
