Scheduling Manager
A leading heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Scheduling Manager to support the delivery of large-scale water and wastewater construction projects across Texas, including programs valued up to $2B. This is a full-time, site-based position in Austin supporting complex, high-profile infrastructure work.
The Scheduling Manager will lead all aspects of project scheduling, from baseline development through progress updates, risk analysis, and time impact evaluations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in alignment with contractual and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain fully cost- and resource-loaded project schedules using Primavera P6
* Plan and sequence preconstruction, construction, startup, and commissioning activities
* Prepare baseline schedules, weekly updates, and monthly schedule reports
* Identify schedule risks, analyze mitigation strategies, and communicate impacts to project stakeholders
* Perform schedule audits, progress analysis, and Time Impact Analyses
* Review project changes and assess schedule impacts for change notices
* Support invoice generation through schedule-based cost and resource tracking
* Present schedule logic and impacts related to bids, changes, delays, and recovery plans
* Mentor and manage junior schedulers and provide leadership across the project team
* Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling standards and best practices
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Expert-level proficiency with Primavera P6
* 10+ years of experience in construction scheduling and work sequencing
* Experience scheduling projects valued at $300M+
* Strong background in baseline development, subcontractor integration, schedule updates, and compliance audits
* Experience with cost- and resource-loaded schedules
* Working knowledge of construction management platforms (Procore, Autodesk Build, CMiC, Viewpoint, etc.)
* Excellent communication skills and experience in client-facing environments
Preferred Experience
* Water or wastewater treatment plant construction
* Supervisory or people-management experience
* Professional certifications (PSP, PMI-SP, PMP)
* Exposure to additional scheduling or analytics tools (Acumen, SmartPM, MS Project, 4D scheduling, Lean/Last Planner)
Compensation & Benefits
* Salary range: $160,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience
