Senior Air Quality Engineer (Remote)
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Air Quality Engineer to lead air compliance and permitting projects, with a strong emphasis on Title V permitting and air dispersion modeling using tools such as AERMOD. This role is ideal for a technical expert who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about helping clients navigate complex environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Title V air permit applications, renewals, and modifications
- Perform air dispersion modeling using AERMOD and other EPA-approved tools
- Develop and maintain emissions inventories and compliance strategies
- Interpret and apply Clean Air Act regulations, including NSR, PSD, MACT, and NESHAP
- Prepare technical reports, regulatory submittals, and client presentations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with regulatory agencies
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal training and development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in air quality engineering and environmental compliance
- Demonstrated expertise in Title V permitting and AERMOD modeling
- Strong understanding of federal and state air regulations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental modeling software
- PE license or ability to obtain preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CALPUFF, SCREEN3, or other modeling platforms
- Familiarity with GHG reporting, fenceline monitoring, and ambient air monitoring
- Experience in industrial sectors such as manufacturing, energy, or chemicals
- Business development or proposal writing experience
