Are you a Building Envelope Consultant, Roofing Consultant, Architect, or Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while helping grow a leading building envelope practice?
This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, multifamily, institutional, healthcare, and industrial projects involving building envelope investigations, roofing and waterproofing consulting, forensic assessments, construction quality assurance, and repair design.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced consultant seeking greater responsibility, technical leadership, client interaction, and the ability to influence the growth of an expanding building envelope practice.
The Opportunity
You'll serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to owners, developers, architects, contractors, attorneys, and property managers, helping diagnose building performance issues and develop long-term solutions.
Project work may include:
- Building envelope investigations
- Roofing assessments and replacement consulting
- Waterproofing evaluations and design
- Water intrusion and leak investigations
- Façade and exterior wall assessments
- Window and glazing evaluations
- Air barrier and weatherproofing consulting
- Existing building condition assessments
- Construction defect investigations
- Property condition assessments
- Reserve studies and capital planning
- Construction quality assurance and field testing
- Forensic investigations and expert support assignments
You'll have the opportunity to work on projects throughout Atlanta and the Southeast while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering, architecture, and building sciences professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead building envelope and waterproofing investigations
- Conduct roofing assessments and condition surveys
- Evaluate roofing, waterproofing, exterior wall, window, and façade systems
- Perform forensic evaluations of building failures and moisture intrusion issues
- Prepare technical reports, repair recommendations, specifications, and construction documents
- Manage projects from initial assessment through construction administration
- Conduct field testing, observations, and quality assurance reviews
- Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals
- Develop remediation and restoration strategies
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Support business development and practice growth efforts
- Mentor junior consultants and technical staff
This role combines office-based consulting with field investigations, site assessments, construction observations, and client-facing project management.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Science, Building Science, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, roofing consulting, waterproofing, restoration consulting, forensic engineering, or related disciplines
- Experience conducting investigations, assessments, and technical report writing
- Strong understanding of roofing, waterproofing, cladding, curtain wall, fenestration, and building enclosure systems
- Experience managing projects and working directly with clients
- Ability to perform roof inspections and field investigations
Preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
- IIBEC credentials such as RRO, RRC, RWC, or REWC
- Experience with water intrusion investigations and remediation design
- Experience preparing specifications and construction documents
- Experience with commercial roofing systems, waterproofing systems, and exterior wall assemblies
- Experience providing construction administration and quality assurance services
