Overview
We are partnered with a nationally recognised engineering and consulting firm looking to bring in a senior leader to build and grow their Land Development presence in the Akron market.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys operating at both a strategic and technical level, with the opportunity to shape a regional practice, build client relationships, and lead a team from the front.

The Opportunity
This role is designed for someone looking to step into a true Discipline Builder type role, where success is defined by both project delivery and long-term business growth.
You will have the autonomy to shape the direction of the land development team locally, while working within a collaborative, well-supported environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a Land Development practice focused on private sector clients
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with developers, owners, and key stakeholders
- Drive business development activities, including proposals and new project pursuits
- Oversee site civil projects from concept through construction
- Provide technical leadership across grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
- Manage project performance, resourcing, and profitability
- Collaborate with internal disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions
What They're Looking For
- 10+ years experience in land development / site civil engineering
- Proven experience delivering private sector development projects (residential, commercial, industrial)
- Strong client-facing and business development capability
- Experience leading teams or building out groups
- Solid understanding of site design, permitting, and project delivery
- Proficiency with Civil 3D / similar design tools
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred
