Solar Project Manager
Our client is a well-established construction and engineering organization providing design, engineering, and construction services across infrastructure, industrial, and renewable energy markets throughout the Midwest. The Position
Our client is seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to oversee utility-scale solar construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This individual will be responsible for managing project execution, schedules, financial performance, subcontractor coordination, safety initiatives, and overall project success across multiple active jobsites throughout the Midwest.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing solar construction projects of varying size and complexity from initiation through completion
* Overseeing project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Coordinating communication between clients, subcontractors, field teams, and internal stakeholders
* Leading project meetings and driving timely resolution of project issues
* Monitoring productivity, labor performance, and overall project profitability
* Supporting contract administration, documentation management, and delay/impact tracking
* Maintaining ownership of project safety, including audits, reporting, and incident investigations
* Reviewing and managing schedule updates throughout the lifecycle of the project
* Assisting with estimating, planning, and project execution strategies
* Traveling throughout the Midwest approximately 3-4 days per week
Requirements
* 5+ years of experience within utility-scale or commercial solar construction
* Strong understanding of PV/DC electrical systems and solar installations
* Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations
* Knowledge of construction management processes, financial reporting, and project controls
* Estimating or takeoff experience is preferred
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
* Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly
