Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Set the vision and direction for a key service line or regional office, aligning with firm-wide goals.
- Team Development: Inspire, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and consultants.
- Client Engagement: Build and deepen relationships with clients across public and private sectors, ensuring exceptional service and long-term value.
- Project Oversight: Provide executive-level oversight on complex engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence, innovation, and budget alignment.
- Business Development: Identify new market opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and represent the firm at industry events and within the community.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate with firm leadership to ensure operational efficiency, quality control, and continuous improvement.
- Thought Leadership: Champion innovation, sustainability, and best practices in engineering and project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the U.S., with eligibility for reciprocity if needed.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in structural or civil engineering, including leadership roles.
- Proven track record of managing teams, delivering complex projects, and driving business growth.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of the AEC industry, including market trends and client needs.
Preferred Attributes
- Deep expertise in building structures, including new design, adaptive reuse, and renovation of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on vertical construction projects across commercial, institutional, or civic sectors.
- Familiarity with building codes, structural modeling software, and construction documentation processes.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers, developing future leaders, and fostering a collaborative team culture.
- Strong business acumen with experience in client development, proposal writing, and strategic planning.
- Passion for sustainability, innovation, and delivering projects that positively impact communities.
