Structural Project Engineer
An established, multidisciplinary engineering firm in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Structural Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of building projects throughout the region. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale commercial developments while collaborating closely with architects and internal design teams in a highly coordinated environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial projects from early concept through construction
- Develop and validate gravity and lateral load paths, including detailed seismic analysis in accordance with current building codes
- Design structural systems utilizing steel, reinforced/post-tensioned concrete, and mass timber
- Partner closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, efficient, and constructible design solutions
- Prepare construction documents, calculations, and specifications with a high level of accuracy and clarity
- Review drawings and provide technical oversight during project execution, including coordination with contractors and field teams
- Contribute to internal design discussions, quality control, and project delivery standards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale commercial building projects
- Strong working knowledge of seismic design, load calculations, and structural systems behavior
- Experience designing with steel, concrete, and mass timber systems
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, design-focused environment with frequent architect interaction
- Strong communication skills and ability to contribute to both technical delivery and team coordination
