Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth and Market Development

  • Lead business development strategy for hospitality and housing markets, aligning with firm-wide goals
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and client relationships
  • Develop and execute go-to-market plans including pursuit strategies, proposals, and presentations
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with developers, architects, contractors, and public and private stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions
  • Ensure exceptional client service and satisfaction across all engagements

Technical and Project Leadership

  • Leverage your engineering expertise to guide project teams and ensure technical excellence
  • Collaborate with internal teams to scope, price, and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • Provide oversight on key pursuits and project delivery, ensuring alignment with client expectations and firm standards

Team Collaboration and Mentorship

  • Partner with technical and operational leaders to align business development with delivery capabilities
  • Mentor junior staff in business development best practices and client engagement
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years in structural engineering, with six to seven years in the hospitality and housing sectors
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a Master's or Doctorate preferred
  • Proven track record in business development and project delivery
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
