Project Manager - Water Resources Engineering

Our client, a respected engineering consulting firm with a strong and growing presence in Wisconsin's water resources sector, is seeking a Project Manager to lead water-focused infrastructure projects across the state. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level professional to take ownership of impactful work in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will manage the planning, design, and execution of water resources projects, including stormwater systems, flood mitigation, and watershed management. This role involves technical leadership, client engagement, and regulatory coordination, with a focus on compliance with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) and Department of Transportation (WisDOT) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of stormwater management, erosion control, and flood mitigation solutions.
- Conduct and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, HY-8, and TR-55.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
- Prepare technical documentation, permit applications, and regulatory submittals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients and regulatory bodies.
- Mentor junior engineers and support business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in water resources engineering, with demonstrated project management capabilities.
- Active Wisconsin PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and water modeling software.
- Familiarity with WDNR and WisDOT standards and permitting processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisation skills.
