About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Design Engineer to join our team and lead the design and development of advanced building automation systems. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong expertise in AutoCAD and a deep understanding of HVAC, lighting, and energy management systems. You will work remotely, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and efficient control solutions for commercial and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control system schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using AutoCAD.
- Create detailed control sequences and logic for HVAC, lighting, and other building automation systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Review and approve submittals, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases.
- Ensure designs meet energy efficiency, sustainability, and safety requirements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in building automation and controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in controls design for building automation systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical and control system design.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, energy management, and building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.).
- Familiarity with PLCs, DDC controllers, and integration of third-party systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Revit or other BIM tools.
- Knowledge of sustainability standards (LEED, ASHRAE).
- Project management experience.
