Civil Engineering Manager
A well-established, multidisciplinary design firm is looking to appoint an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to lead and grow their land development practice in Northern Virginia.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a team, drive business growth, and play a key role in shaping the direction of the civil engineering group, while benefiting from the backing and resources of a recognised international platform.
The role
You will be responsible for leading the civil engineering team, overseeing operations, and driving profitability across the group. This position combines technical oversight, business development, and team leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the growth, revenue, and profitability of the civil engineering group
- Preparing proposals and contracts for new and existing projects
- Managing client relationships and actively developing new business opportunities
- Attending networking events, planning hearings, and client meetings
- Overseeing project delivery and managing select projects
- Reviewing revenue projections, financial performance, and monthly business reports
- Managing day-to-day operations of the team
- Recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing staff
What they're looking for
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience within land development
- Experience operating at Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and grow a team
- Strong track record of client relationship management and business development
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
