Professional Civil Engineer - Raleigh, North Carolina

A leading national civil engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its national team to help establish their already growing presence within the Raleigh, North Carolina area and work on a multitude of award-winning projects nationwide and be at the forefront of innovation and impact within the water industry.

As part of this team, you'll contribute to projects involving municipal water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection systems, and pumping facilities. Projects may include:

  • Master planning and asset management
  • Condition assessments and infrastructure improvements
  • Water quality studies
  • Treatment plant rehabilitation and expansion
  • Water reuse initiatives supporting sustainable and resilient water supplies

You'll collaborate with experts in water research and technology, working in a dynamic and supportive environment that values innovation and professional growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design site components for water and wastewater infrastructure (e.g., layout, piping, grading, stormwater systems)
  • Conduct planning and preliminary design activities including site visits and fieldwork
  • Develop engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during construction
  • Support permitting processes and alternative analyses
  • Participate in field activities such as pilot testing and site reconnaissance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
