Role Summary:
The client is seeking an experienced and driven Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of mission-critical data center projects in Japan. This role involves overseeing the full life cycle of construction - from planning and budgeting to execution and handover - ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate design, engineering, and construction activities with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Conduct constructability reviews and ensure compliance with local regulations and global standards.
- Lead project meetings, track progress, and resolve issues proactively.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure alignment of project goals with client expectations and business objectives.
- Manage communication protocols and reporting across all project phases.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage construction budgets and forecasts.
- Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and change orders.
- Analyze bids and negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in data center or mission-critical environments.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale infrastructure projects in Japan.
- Strong understanding of Japanese construction regulations and permitting processes.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
- Fluent in English; Japanese language proficiency is highly desirable.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with digital tools for project tracking and reporting.
