Director of Business Development

The organization is expanding its commercial team and is seeking a Director of Business Development to help lead strategic growth initiatives, identify new development opportunities, and build partnerships that support the expansion of its U.S. renewable energy portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership while helping shape the long-term market strategy of a fast-growing clean energy platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts to originate and secure new renewable energy opportunities across key U.S. markets
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships with developers, landowners, utilities, and industry stakeholders
- Evaluate acquisition opportunities, joint ventures, and development partnerships to expand the company's project pipeline
- Work cross-functionally with development, finance, engineering, and legal teams to advance opportunities through diligence and execution
- Support market entry strategies and identify high-potential regions for new project development
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings with potential partners
- Contribute to long-term portfolio growth strategy and commercial positioning
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in renewable energy, power infrastructure, or energy project development
- Strong background in business development, project origination, or strategic partnerships within the energy sector
- Experience working with solar, battery storage, or other clean energy technologies
- Proven ability to identify and execute commercial opportunities within competitive markets
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of project economics
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
