A growing Florida engineering consultancy is looking for a Drainage Engineer to join its growing water resources/drainage team, to work alongside its established transport team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of FDOT, municipal, and regional stormwater projects throughout Florida.
You'll be involved in a variety of drainage and stormwater assignments, including roadway drainage design, storm sewer systems, stormwater pond design, municipal drainage improvements, flood mitigation initiatives, and large-scale master planning efforts. Current work includes major municipal stormwater studies, interconnected storm sewer system evaluations, and drainage design for transportation infrastructure projects across the state.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design stormwater management and drainage systems for FDOT and municipal projects
- Perform storm sewer network analysis and drainage calculations
- Develop stormwater pond designs and supporting reports
- Support regional drainage and watershed planning studies
- Prepare construction plans, technical reports, and permitting documentation
- Collaborate with transportation and civil engineering teams on complex infrastructure projects
Ideal Background
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license preferred (or recently obtained)
- 4-8 years of drainage, stormwater, or water resources experience
- Experience with FDOT or municipal drainage projects
- Familiarity with FDOT standards and drainage design practices
- Experience using software such as ICPR, PondPack, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HY-8, OpenRoads, or similar
