Electrical Designer - Power & Low Voltage Systems

We are seeking an Electrical Designer with experience in both power distribution and low voltage systems to join our growing Denver team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse building projects while contributing equally to electrical and low voltage design efforts. You'll collaborate closely with project engineers, clients, and architects to help deliver thoughtful, code-compliant, and integrated design solutions.
About the Role
In this dual-focus position, you'll split your time between traditional electrical design, including lighting, power distribution, and panel layouts, and low voltage systems such as fire alarm, telecom, access control, and security. You'll support projects across various sectors including multifamily, education, civic, and commercial buildings, with opportunities to grow into a leadership or specialist role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop construction documents and design layouts for electrical power systems and lighting plans.
- Design low voltage systems including structured cabling, fire alarm, security, and AV.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure cohesive, fully integrated design.
- Assist with site surveys, load calculations, lighting controls, and equipment selection.
- Support project delivery from design through construction administration.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to ensure quality and consistency in design documentation.
What You Bring
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in building systems design with exposure to both electrical and low voltage systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with lighting design software and photometric analysis tools is a plus.
- Understanding of NEC, energy codes, and low voltage design standards (NFPA, BICSI, etc.).
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to handle multiple deadlines.
