Field Engineer I/II - Remote with Travel

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission and operate pilot- and commercial-scale membrane systems at customer sites
  • Calibrate instrumentation, perform maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and analyze performance trends
  • Maintain professional relationships with customer site personnel and provide remote support
  • Conduct safety training and equipment handoff to customer teams
  • Support lab-based testing and bench-scale evaluations prior to field deployments

Additional Duties

  • Operate PLC-based and manual process equipment
  • Calibrate flowmeters, pH probes, and other standard instrumentation
  • Collect and analyze water samples using field chemistry kits
  • Troubleshoot control systems and tune PID loops
  • Modify process equipment in the field (e.g., pipe runs, equipment installation)
  • Prepare client-facing reports and presentations based on field data
  • Maintain composure and professionalism during troubleshooting and client interactions
  • Collaborate with individuals across varying technical backgrounds
  • Travel by car or air to customer sites; maintain a valid driver's license
  • Support remote monitoring and provide on-call assistance
  • Work extended hours during field deployments (e.g., 12-hour days for two-week periods)

Qualifications

  • Vocational, associate, or bachelor's degree in electrical or automation engineering preferred
  • Other relevant fields: mechanical engineering, industrial electrical technology, math, or water treatment
  • Strong math skills and ability to perform water treatment calculations
  • 1-5+ years of hands-on experience with water treatment equipment (pumps, valves, flowmeters)
  • Mechanical aptitude (e.g., experience in automotive or equipment repair)
  • Experience with membrane systems is highly desirable

Location, Travel, and Compensation

  • Based in Louisiana
  • Travel required: 50-75%, depending on project schedule
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience; includes equity and benefits
