Overview:

This role is responsible for the strategic management of the fleet, ensuring optimal performance, compliance with international maritime regulations, and alignment with business objectives. The position drives digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness across fleet operations.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize routing, manage emissions and fuel consumption, and implement automation and digitalization strategies. Additionally, you will lead budgeting processes, cost optimization projects, and other strategic initiatives in partnership with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee vessel management for the entire fleet, including preventive maintenance, dry docking, new builds, procurement, manpower planning, and fleet development.
  • Lead and develop a team of managers to maintain high standards of vessel performance and seaworthiness.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for fleet digital transformation and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Manage new build projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, regulations, and company policies.
  • Oversee budgeting, crew training, and compliance with ISM requirements, while monitoring fleet conditions and related projects.
  • Liaise with Masters and Chief Engineers on maintenance and survey plans, and review requisitions for spare parts.
  • Ensure repair and maintenance policies, dry docking, bunkering procedures, and HSE standards are effectively implemented.
  • Conduct trend analysis and make strategic decisions on fleet management.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and safeguard company interests.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Operations, or related field.
  • Seafaring Chief Engineer with at least 20 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in ship management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience with dual-fuel propulsion systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of dry docking standards, regulatory compliance (ISM, ISPS), and maritime developments.
