Forensic Structural Engineer
We're working with a local engineering firm based in Colorado who are looking for a Forensic Structural Engineer to join their team. This role This position involves providing expert engineering services for the evaluation and rehabilitation of existing structures. The focus includes structural repairs as well as enhancements to building envelope performance through renovation, restoration, and retrofit solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate structural failures and damages caused by natural disasters, construction defects, and material issues.
- Conduct site assessments (as needed) and analyze data to determine the root cause of structural issues.
- Prepare detailed forensic reports for legal, insurance, and property owner clients.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Review construction plans, building codes, and technical documents to provide expert recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
- PE licensed
- 5-10 years of structural engineering experience; forensic or failure analysis experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple projects
