About the Opportunity

A nationally recognized, employee‑owned engineering firm is seeking a Geotechnical Dam Safety Team Lead to help build and expand the North Texas and Oklahoma dam safety market from its Dallas office. This is a key leadership role for an experienced dam safety professional who wants to combine technical excellence, client development, and team growth within a high‑performing infrastructure‑focused organization.

This position offers the opportunity to shape a regional practice, leverage a strong national dam safety platform, and play a visible role in expanding services across Texas and Oklahoma.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Dam Safety and Geotechnical practice across North Texas and Oklahoma
  • Serve as technical lead and trusted advisor on dam safety projects, including:
    • Dam safety inspections and evaluations
    • Risk assessments and compliance reviews
    • Rehabilitation and stabilization design
    • Instrumentation and monitoring programs
  • Drive business development efforts, including:
    • Building and maintaining relationships with dam owners, utilities, municipalities, and regulators
    • Supporting proposal development and pursuit strategies
  • Build and mentor a local team, collaborating closely with national dam safety and geotechnical experts
  • Provide technical oversight and QA/QC, ensuring a continued focus on engineering excellence
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams supporting infrastructure, tunneling, mining, and large‑scale geotechnical projects

Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of experience in dam safety, geotechnical, or related heavy civil infrastructure work
    (Flexibility is available for candidates with exceptional technical credentials and market experience)
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Dam safety evaluations and design
    • State and federal regulatory frameworks
    • Owner‑engineer or public‑sector clients
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (multi‑state licensure or ability to obtain preferred)
  • Proven ability or clear interest in market expansion and practice development
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client‑facing skills
