A wellāestablished heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale site development and utility projects in the Manassas, VA area. This role is ideal for a proven field leader who can oversee complex projects and mentor field teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership of field operations across major projects
- Oversee Superintendents, Foremen, and crews on sitework, grading, and utility scopes
- Manage scheduling, manpower, equipment, and subcontractors at a high level
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with plans and specifications
- Coordinate with project management, clients, engineers, and inspectors
- Enforce safety standards and drive a strong jobsite safety culture
- Assist with project planning, sequencing, and problem-solving
- Mentor and develop field leadership team members
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent in heavy civil construction
- Strong background in site development, grading, and underground utilities
- Experience managing large, complex projects and multiple crews
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- OSHA 30 preferred
