Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated High Voltage Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role will focus on the design, specification, and oversight of high voltage systems (34.5kV to 500kV) for renewable energy projects, including substations, transmission interconnections, and grid integration.

  • Support our large scale & growing solar & BESS portfolio across the US.
  • Design and review high voltage electrical systems for utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
  • Develop and evaluate substation layouts, single-line diagrams, grounding, protection, and control systems.
  • Support interconnection applications and coordinate with utilities and ISOs/RTOs.
  • Prepare technical specifications and scopes of work for EPC contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, equipment data sheets, and construction submittals.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, NESC), and utility requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, civil and mechanical engineers, permitting teams, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred); Master's degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in high voltage electrical engineering, preferably in renewable energy or utility sectors.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of US based experience.
  • Experience with substation design, protection & control systems, equipment such as transformers, power system studies, and/or equipment operations.
  • Strong understanding of substation design, protection schemes, and grid interconnection processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
