Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Hygiene / Building Sciences (IHBS) professional to lead consulting projects, manage client relationships, and drive team development. This role blends technical oversight, project management, and business development, with a strong emphasis on mentorship, quality control, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across asbestos, lead, mold, and indoor air quality, alongside the ability to manage multiple projects and contribute to regional business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IHBS projects end-to-end, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, budget, timeline, and safety standards
- Lead and mentor junior staff; support performance management, career development, and technical growth
- Develop team goals, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs across assigned staff
- Maintain and grow client relationships across private, public, and institutional sectors
- Support business development efforts through opportunity identification, proposal development, and industry engagement
- Coordinate internal resources, staffing, and workload balancing across projects
- Provide quality control for technical reports, RFPs, and regulatory documentation
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor project financials including budgeting, invoicing, and collections
- Represent the IHBS practice in internal and external meetings, contributing to strategic planning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in industrial hygiene/building sciences, including project management and client-facing work
- Demonstrated leadership experience with mentoring and developing teams
- Strong knowledge of asbestos, lead, mold, and industrial hygiene regulations at the local, state, and federal levels
- Experience managing multiple projects of varying scope and complexity
- Existing client relationships within the IH marketplace preferred
- Proficiency in technical report writing, review, and documentation
- Experience with asbestos, lead, mold, and indoor air quality assessments
- Licensed Asbestos Project Designer, Inspector, and/or Management Planner preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to work in field environments with PPE as required
