Lead Building Automation Engineer (Remote)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Lead Controls Programmer with deep expertise in Delta Controls systems to join our Building Automation team. In this role, you will lead the programming, configuration, and commissioning of building automation systems (BAS) for commercial and institutional projects. You will serve as the technical authority on Delta Controls, ensuring high-quality implementations that meet client specifications and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming & Configuration:

    • Develop and implement control logic, graphics, and user interfaces using Delta Controls' enteliWEB and related tools.
    • Configure and integrate HVAC, lighting, and other building systems into the BAS platform.
  • Project Leadership:

    • Lead the controls programming scope on multiple projects, from design review through commissioning and handover.
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Commissioning & Troubleshooting:

    • Perform system testing, validation, and commissioning of Delta Controls systems.
    • Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and post-occupancy phases.
  • Documentation & Standards:

    • Create and maintain detailed documentation including sequence of operations, point lists, and as-built drawings.
    • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and client requirements.
  • Mentorship & Training:

    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior programmers and technicians.
    • Conduct training sessions for internal staff and end-users on Delta Controls systems.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in BAS programming, with a strong focus on Delta Controls.
  • Certified Delta Controls Programmer (e.g., DDC Level II or higher) strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in enteliWEB, GCL+ programming, and BACnet protocols.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control sequences, and integration strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with integration of third-party systems (e.g., Modbus, LON, KNX).
  • Familiarity with energy management and analytics platforms.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading technical teams.
