Location: Australia (flexible)
Seniority: Manager level

About the Role

We are partnering with a leading sustainability and climate advisory firm to appoint a Manager specialising in climate policy, climate risk and organisational resilience. This role sits within a high‑performing climate strategy team and focuses on helping major organisations understand, assess, and plan for climate‑related risks, opportunities, and long‑term transition pathways.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret global climate models, policy trends, and scientific evidence - turning them into strategic insights for senior executives and Boards.

This position is ideal for someone who has worked in climate policy, climate risk, environmental economics, climate‑related strategy, or transition planning, and who is now looking to play a central role in shaping how organisations prepare for climate‑driven uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities

Climate Risk, Scenario Analysis & Strategy

  • Apply global frameworks and scenario tools (e.g., IPCC, IEA, NGFS, government and sectoral guidance) to develop evidence‑based assumptions for climate risk and opportunity assessments.
  • Convert complex climate science and transition pathways into clear, commercially relevant insights for senior leadership.
  • Support clients in identifying climate‑related risks and opportunities, integrating scenario outcomes into enterprise‑wide decision‑making, transition strategies, resilience assessments and long‑term planning.
  • Collaborate with technical and analytical teams to combine climate modelling, emissions data and physical risk insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of internal methodologies for interpreting climate impacts and quantifying climate risk.
  • Guide clients through emerging reporting requirements such as climate‑related disclosures, risk assessments, and transition planning expectations.

Client Engagement & Practice Growth

  • Lead or support complex client engagements, working closely with executives, sustainability leaders and boards.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, market engagement and capability building within climate risk and policy advisory.
  • Play a role in refining internal frameworks, scenario methodologies and strategic advisory offerings to stay ahead of market and regulatory developments.

About You

  • 5-10+ years' experience in climate policy, climate risk, economic analysis, sustainability strategy, climate finance, or related domains.
  • Strong grounding in climate‑related scenario analysis, including an understanding of assumptions underpinning IPCC, IEA, NGFS or similar global models.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international climate policy, emissions schemes, border adjustments, carbon markets and broader regulatory developments.
  • Experience in transition planning, climate policy analysis, risk assessment or carbon market strategy.
  • Ability to translate macro‑environmental trends - policy shifts, technological change, market signals, physical risks - into business‑relevant insights.
  • Skilled communicator who can distil complex information for senior audiences and produce polished strategic reports.
  • Personal commitment to advancing climate‑aligned decision‑making and resilience.

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Familiarity with ISSB/TCFD/ASRS/TNFD or other reporting and disclosure frameworks.
  • Sector exposure across energy, mining, infrastructure, natural resources, industrials or similar complex environments.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary package with performance incentives.
  • Hybrid and flexible work arrangements.
  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of climate strategy and risk advisory.
  • Supportive, mission‑driven environment with strong career development pathways.
