Mechanical Designer
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with an EIT certification to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the design and development of HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building projects, collaborating closely with senior engineers, architects, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and layout of HVAC and plumbing systems using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and duct/piping sizing.
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design integration.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed.
- Support project delivery from concept through construction administration.
- Stay current with industry codes, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in HVAC and/or plumbing design preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, IPC, IMC, and other relevant codes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with energy modeling software (e.g., Trace 700, HAP).
- LEED accreditation or interest in sustainable design.
- Knowledge of BIM workflows and clash detection tools
