Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer
A nationally recognized engineering firm headquartered in Dallas is expanding its Water/Wastewater team and seeking a Mid-Level Wastewater Engineer to support municipal infrastructure and treatment plant projects across the U.S. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, multi-discipline projects while advancing toward technical leadership in a collaborative and growth-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and contribute to the design of wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and collection systems.
Develop technical reports, calculations, engineering drawings, and construction specifications.
Perform hydraulic modeling and infrastructure analysis using industry-standard software.
Support permitting efforts and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal teams and external stakeholders.
Conduct site visits, condition assessments, and construction observation.
Support proposal development, project planning, and budgeting tasks.
Mentor junior staff and participate in knowledge-sharing efforts within the team.
Maintain project schedules and assist in managing design deliverables across multiple active projects.
Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers on quality assurance and project execution.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET-accredited program preferred).
3-7 years of relevant experience in wastewater or water infrastructure design.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, SWMM, InfoWater, or other hydraulic modeling software.
Strong working knowledge of EPA guidelines, state/local wastewater standards, and permitting processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and client groups.
Experience managing priorities in a deadline-driven, multi-project environment.
Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings.
