About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Construction Superintendent to oversee large-scale multifamily residential projects in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing wrap and podium-style buildings with budgets exceeding $50 million. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate complex construction activities from groundbreaking through project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on-site construction operations for multifamily projects, ensuring adherence to design, schedule, and budget.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and local building codes.
Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and schedule updates.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to plans/specifications.
Manage logistics, including deliveries, equipment, and site access.
Participate in project planning, pre-construction meetings, and close-out processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in multifamily construction, with at least 3 years as a Superintendent on $50M+ projects.
Demonstrated experience with wrap and podium construction methods.
Strong understanding of structural systems, MEP coordination, and building envelope details.
Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications a plus.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in urban environments with tight site logistics.
Familiarity with Chicago building codes and permitting processes.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
