About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex water infrastructure projects. This is a senior leadership role where you will provide technical expertise, strategic input, and mentorship to a high-performing team. You will work on major projects such as treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and large-scale civil structures, ensuring innovative and sustainable design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and client specifications.
- Oversee project delivery from concept through detailed design, including technical reviews and quality assurance.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers, fostering technical excellence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve project objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; Chartered status highly desirable.
- 10+ years' experience in structural design, with a strong focus on water infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and manage technical teams.
- Expertise in reinforced concrete, steel structures, and foundations for water facilities.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and design software (e.g., STAAD, SpaceGass, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
