Civil Project Engineer - North Charleston, SC
A well-established design firm ranked among the top in the industry is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Site Project Engineer to join its team in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves performing high-level assignments that develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard and moderately complex engineering techniques and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in site grading, drainage, utility design, and land development, along with creative problem-solving skills and a solid technical foundation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design plans for site grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and roadways for both public and private sector clients.
- Prepare hydrology, earthwork, and roadway plans and profile evaluations.
- Assist in collecting due diligence information and preparing concept site engineering plans.
- Contribute to engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
- Prepare submittals to state, municipal, and other agencies.
- Apply judgment in design decisions using standard engineering techniques and alternatives.
- Make independent decisions within a general framework, adhering to timelines and budgets.
- Keep project engineer and manager informed of workload and scope changes.
- Manage small to moderately complex projects from inception to completion.
- Communicate with clients as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 1 year of design experience.
- Proficient in hydrology, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
- E.I.T. or P.E. certification required.
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, and reach with arms.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
