Project Manager / Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Seattle, WA
Salary: $120,000- $160,000

A leading general contractor is seeking a skilled Project Manager/Estimator to join their team in Seattle, WA. This dual-role position is ideal for a construction professional with a strong background in heavy civil projects who can manage active jobs while also contributing to preconstruction efforts through accurate and strategic estimating.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Lead estimating efforts for upcoming bids, including quantity takeoffs, subcontractor coordination, and cost analysis.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals.

Experience Needed

  • 5+ years of combined experience in project management and estimating for heavy civil construction (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities, earthwork).
  • Proven ability to manage field operations and develop competitive bids.
  • Experience with public works and DOT projects is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with estimating and project management software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, Primavera P6, MS Project).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Familiarity with local market conditions and subcontractor base is a plus.
