Project Manager - Overhead Distribution Construction

About the Role

We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Manager to oversee overhead distribution construction projects from initiation through completion. This position plays a vital role in supporting grid reliability, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvement by coordinating all aspects of project delivery.

The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, an understanding of distribution construction practices, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end execution of overhead distribution projects, including new construction, pole replacements, rebuilds, and reconductoring.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, work plans, and resource forecasts.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, field supervisors, contractors, and procurement to ensure job readiness and efficient field execution.
  • Oversee material planning, permitting requirements, work package review, and construction mobilization.
  • Conduct job site visits to monitor progress, verify quality, and resolve field challenges.
  • Track project performance, maintain documentation, and produce regular status reports for internal and client stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and drive clear communication across all teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, utility requirements, and industry regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent utility experience also considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing projects in overhead distribution or related electrical construction.
  • Working knowledge of distribution line design, construction standards, safety practices, and NESC guidelines.
  • Strong project management, scheduling, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and coordinate field operations.
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus but not required.
