About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Travelling Project Manager to support complex mechanical construction projects-primarily HVAC, plumbing, and related systems-for large commercial, industrial, and mission‑critical facilities. This role requires regular travel to Atlanta, GA, supporting field operations, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring smooth execution from planning through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Oversee on‑site coordination of HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and process system installations, ensuring projects meet technical specifications and high‑purity or mission‑critical standards where required.
- Manage schedules, budgets, manpower, and subcontractors to maintain project momentum and accountability.
- Lead daily field progress reviews, safety walkthroughs, and issue resolution to eliminate bottlenecks.
- Facilitate alignment between engineering, fabrication teams, BIM coordination, and field installation crews.
- Conduct commissioning coordination and turnover documentation for completed systems.
Travel & Site Leadership
- Travel regularly to Atlanta‑area job sites to supervise field operations.
- Build effective relationships with local teams, subcontract partners, and facility stakeholders.
- Ensure teams adhere to stringent quality control practices, especially for healthcare, laboratory, and data‑center environments.
Technical & Administrative Responsibilities
- Review mechanical drawings, fabrication models, installation sequencing, and design‑build project data.
- Collaborate with BIM specialists on clash detection and installation planning.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, RFIs, change orders, and status reports.
- Support the use of advanced digital tools for project planning, scheduling, and field execution.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction, HVAC systems, plumbing, or industrial mechanical environments.
- Proven ability to oversee field operations for large commercial and institutional projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, prefabrication workflows, and construction sequencing.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to Atlanta.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team‑coordination skills.
Preferred
- Experience with healthcare, data centers, labs, or high‑purity industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with BIM/VDC processes and prefab‑driven construction models.
- Background working with mechanical contractors that maintain a large fabrication footprint or technology‑integrated workflows.
