Position Overview
The organization is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead complex environmental projects involving investigation, remediation, compliance, and restoration efforts. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and experience working within regulated environments.
The selected candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams and manage projects from early planning through execution and closeout, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large and complex environmental projects, including site investigations, remediation activities, and regulatory compliance programs
- Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, reporting, and completion
- Prepare and review technical deliverables such as work plans, reports, cost estimates, and schedules
- Oversee budgets, timelines, subcontractors, and internal project teams
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and project managers
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and safety requirements
- Maintain adherence to internal quality assurance and quality control standards
- Act as the primary liaison with clients and stakeholders
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement
- Drive strong project performance and foster long-term client relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, chemistry, or a related discipline
- Professional licensure (e.g., PE or PG) preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
- At least 8 years of experience managing federal environmental projects, particularly those involving investigation, remediation, compliance, or restoration
- Experience working under structured contracting mechanisms or multi-project programs is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage project financials, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with environmental regulatory frameworks and safety standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel as needed and work at project sites
